John Wu of China writes his perspective:

As I have many years communicative experiences with US school teachers and children, my students and I have a good impression on America. I hope other classes or other schools in China could share the experiences that I have. Children and their education are the future of our two countries and also the future of our world. Global citizens' understanding and respect are the beginning of the peace of human beings. "Go Fourth" is a good way children, parents and teachers to follow and make the whole world "Go Fourth" with us. Education not just only teachers parade their knowledge and students receive the knowledge from teacher. In short education is not just teaching and learning. Communication, understanding, respect the world's Diversity is also very important. Internet as the technology can make our communication more frequently but face to face communication can promote the understanding and respects more effective. The Sino-US Forum of the Children, parents and teachers in Shaoguan China can play an active role to make more Chinese people know the importance.
Sincerely,
John

Thank you very much to let us know about the project "Go Fourth."
I want some ideas on teaching respect and no teasing which you have done
with my class. I would like you to e-mail me the ideas. Our class will be back to school at the end of this month.

Students tease each other is common in the whole I think, because sometime it creates
pleasures for all but sometimes makes conflicts. In China, the most pupils at school are the one child in the family. At home no peers play with him or her, mom and dad sometimes tease each other so they usually learn from their parents. When they go to school they feel interested
to tease each other in class, call each others terrible nick names, sometimes cause fighting. It's really the problem teachers have to face to. On the other hand, most of the parents who were born and brought up in 1960's they lack of the education. The schools were running badly at that time in China. Teacher's status was very low at that time many teachers were teasing by the students in the schools and society. Personally, I think the parents education background is also effecting the children's respect to their teachers.

Education problem usually cause many problems in the society. I think the teachers all around the world are necessary to discuss this problem. Teasing tendency is the right direction to start from. Family- teachers-society how to coordinate well to creat a good environment are important.
